Predstavitev

Nenad Jelesijević je multimedijski umetnik; raziskovalec performansa, scenskih umetnosti in filma; pisec; performer; oblikovalec in arhitekt; soustanovitelj in umetniški vodja zavoda za umetniško produkcijo in raziskovanje Kitch, pri katerem koordinira dolgoročni program Teorije in prakse performansa; (so)avtor v performerskem tandemu Kitch.


Avtor je in izvajalec solo performansov esc in Molitev, zasnoval je hepeninge PopParty in Fantom identitete, soavtor je performansov Prisega, Kitch poroka, Mali princ in Razprodaja. Zasnoval je in izvedel vrsto multimedijskih instalacij, kot so Made in China, Javni zrak, Dnevna soba, Shop till U Drop in XXX razprodaja. Avtor je videa Natrag u garažu. Oblikoval je prostorske in svetlobne zasnove izvedb omenjenih hepeningov, performansov No.1, Prisega in Mali princ ter ulične instalacije Stalna čakalnica.


V umetniški praksi in tekstih se pogosto dotika fenomenov spektakla, popa, estetizacije upora in dezidentifikacije.


Redno objavlja na spletišču performans, ki je tudi zbirka njegovih besedil o performansu, scenskih umetnostih, filmu in sorodnih aktualnih pojavih (v slovenščini, angleščini, srbščini, hrvaščini in francoščini).


V knjigi Performans-kritika. Zasuk v odpravo umetnosti (MGL, 2018) je razvil zamisel o performansu-kritiki kot fenomenu in konceptu. Utemeljuje jo v prepletu premislekov o subverziji, nevtralizaciji in avtonomiji, ter med primerjalno obravnavo sedemindvajsetih primerov raznorodnih umetniških praks in javnih gest.


Doktoriral je iz filozofije in teorije vizualne kulture s tezo Kritična umetnina in simbolni kapital (Univerza na Primorskem, Fakulteta za humanistične študije), magistriral iz videa s tezo Umetnost je trgovski artikel (Univerza v Ljubljani, Akademija za likovno umetnost), diplomiral pa iz notranje arhitekture (Univerzitet umetnosti u Beogradu, Fakultet primenjenih umetnosti).


Več kot dvestopetdeset njegovih besedil je objavljeno v revijah (Amfiteater, Annales, Maska, Kino!, Lutka, Didaskalia Kraków, Critical Stages/Scènes critiques, ČKZ, Dialogi, Medijska preža, Borec, Tribuna, Mladina), zbornikih (Drama, tekst, pisava 2, ur. P. Pogorevc in T. Toporišič; The Critic is Present or Towards Embodied Criticism, ur. I. Medenica; Uprizoritvene umetnosti, migracije, politika, ur. B. Šebjanič et al.), na radiu (Radio Študent, Radio Slovenija 3, Hrvatski radio 3), v spletnih publikacijah (Mediantrop, XXZ magazin, Trajekt, performans idr.), gledaliških listih (MGL, Mladinsko, Glej, AGRFT) in projektnih publikacijah (Pogled izza, Izvođenje demokratije, A Space for Live Art, Migration of Subversion, Living on a Border idr.). Kontinuirano je objavljal na RTV Slovenija, Radiu Študent, v Delu in Večeru, tam tudi svojo kolumno Javne arhitekture.


Vrsto raziskovalnih prispevkov je predstavil na dogodkih, kot so: mednarodni teatrološki simpozij Sterijevega pozorja v Novem Sadu; mednarodna konferenca FDU v Beogradu; mednarodna konferenca ESA na dunajski univerzi MDW; konferenca CtC na gledališkem inštitutu v Olomoucu; srečanje mreže Balkan Express/IETM v Sofiji; artist talk v Galeriji Močvara v Zagrebu; Mladinsko_dialog; simpoziji v okviru Borštnikovega srečanja; simpozij Amfiteatra in AGRFT; Maskin simpozij in seminar; kolokviji Slovenskega društva za estetiko. Sodeloval je v javnih debatah o sodobni umetnosti, sodobnem plesu, javnem prostoru, filmu in migracijah, kot so: Metelkovska protislovja (ČKZ), Kdo rabi sceno? (RŠ), Razširjene oblike plesne koreografije (Gibanica), Metodologije beleženja sodobnega plesa (Emanat), Abstraktni in konkretni prostor kapitalizma (DPU, MSUM), Mesto kot platno, oder in bojišče (Kultipraktik, Bunker), Domovina: Irak, leto nič (Slovenska kinoteka), Načini gledanja (Pekarna Magdalenske mreže) idr.


Pedagoške izkušnje s področij performativnega, scenskega in filmskega izražanja je nabiral kot snovalec, mentor in koordinator izobraževalnih projektov — multimedijskih delavnic za mlade Supernova, filmskega usposabljanja Moja digitalna zgodba in Multimedijskega praktikuma za opolnomočenje manjšin. Učil je Predstavitvene tehnike na šoli uporabnih umetnosti Famul Stuart v Ljubljani. Bil je gostujoči predavatelj pri predmetu Kritična teorija kulture na Fakulteti za družbene vede v Ljubljani. Bil je mentor pri delavnicah PARL.


Uredil je vrsto projektnih publikacij in spletnih strani ter oblikoval nekaj knjig, revijo Dialogi, številne tiskovine in spletne predstavitve.


Bil je v uredniškem odboru revije Maska in v Strokovni skupini Festivala Borštnikovo srečanje.

Resume

Nenad Jelesijević is a multimedia artist, researcher of performance art, stage arts and film, writer, performer, designer and architect. His artistic work and writings intertwin phenomena of spectacle, pop, aestheticization of resistance, and disidentification.


His recent solo performances are esc and Prayer. He conceptualized happenings PopParty and Phantom of Identity, and is a co-author of performances The Oath, Kitch Wedding, Le petit prince and Sale. He conceptualized and realized many multimedia installations such as Made in China, Public Air, Living Room, Shop till U Drop and XXX Sale. He is an author of video Back to Garage. Avtor je in oblikovalec prostorskih in svetlobnih zasnov izvedb omenjenih hepeningov ter performansov Prisega, Mali princ in No.1. He designed the spatial and lighting realisations of above mentioned happenings, performances The Oath, Le petit prince and No.1, and of the street installation Permanent Waiting Room.


He regularly posts at performans, which is also an extensive collection of his writings on performativity, theatre, contemporary dance, film, and related topical phenomena (in Slovenian, Serbian, English, French, Croatian).


He introduces and develops the concept of performance-critique in his book Performance-critique. A Turn toward Abolishment of Art. The book is a joint of comparative analysis of twenty-seven diverse artistic practices and public gestures, and reflections on subversion, neutralization and autonomy. Published by the Ljubljana City Theatre within one of the world's earliest theatrology book collections.


He is a co-founder of The Kitch Institute—performance research and production based in Ljubljana, its artistic director, and coordinator of a long-term program Performance Theories and Practices.


He was a (co)author in the performance art tandem Kitch.


He holds a PhD from Philosophy and Theory of Visual Culture, with the thesis Critical Artwork and Symbolic Capital, an MA from Video, and a BA from Interior Architecture (University of Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Applied Arts)


His official bibliography has more than 250 entries, mostly texts, being published in journals, books, dailies, theatre playbills, various printed and online publications, as well as broadcasted on radio.


He presented many contributions at conferences, symposia, artist talks and public debates on performing arts, contemporary art, contemporary dance, aesthetics, philosophy, film, migrations, and public space—in Ljubljana, Maribor, Vienna, Bologna, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zagreb, Olomouc, Stockholm, Helsinki, Sofia and elsewhere.


He conceptualized, mentored and supervised trainings for performers and film makers in educational projects My Digital Story, Multimedia Practicum for Minorities, and Supernova Multimedia Workshops. He was a guest lecturer in Critical Theory of Culture at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and a lecturer of Presentation Techniques at Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts, both in Ljubljana. He was a mentor within the PARL workshops.


He designed/edited many printed and several web publications, and designed few books.


He was in editorial board of the performing arts journal Maska, and in the artistic board of Borštnikovo srečanje—a major theatre festival of Slovenia.
